Gedenkstätte Plötzensee

Good morning. When I visited the Plötenzsee Monument, where more than 2,800 opponents of the Nazi-regime were hanged or beheaded in the years 1933-45, preparations were underway for the official ceremony that would be held here on Sunday, 81 years after the failed attempt to kill Hitler and topple his regime. In the pictures, you don't see or hear the men and woman cleaning the site, mowing the grass and blowing away the dry leaves. After Sunday, there should be new wreaths,  I'll probably return on Monday to take some pictures. I had a spare hour before a meeting with imam Osman Oers of House of One, so I used the opportunity to take pictures while all was still quiet. This is a place that you want to see alone or with a small group.
